ReStore RePort

Offerings at the ReStore

The Itasca County Habitat for Humanity ReStore is going gangbusters! Chris, Joann and the crew are in the process of unloading a large set of beautiful kitchen cabinets and appliances. Rumor has it; he’s going to be deconstructing a few homes yet this fall. Be sure to stop in to see the new goods.

You never know what you’ll find in the ReStore. My husband was shopping the ReStore and recently found a stove and all the cedar for a sauna for $150.00. He’s building a sauna in the man-cave and didn’t want to spend a lot of money on it. I’ll post pictures of it when it’s done. I should also mention that the wood stove in the cave was also a ReStore bargain. Do you have any stories of great finds from the ReStore? Please share them if you do.

We are now accepting cell phones for recycling. Gather all your old cell phones that you don’t know what to do with and drop them in the box by the checkout counter. The ReStore also recycles aluminum and copper.

I should also mention that the ReStore is looking for a few more volunteers to cashier and a few for donation pick-ups and deconstructions. We have a truck and trailer, all you need is a valid driver’s license. As I mentioned earlier, we have a few deconstructions coming up and we are looking for guys and gals that enjoy taking things apart. I guess you can say that not only do we build homes, we take them down too!

Finally, we will be moving to our winter hours in November. The ReStore will be open Wednesday through Friday from 9:30 to 5:30 and Saturdays from 9:30 to 2:00. Chris will still be working; he will just be working on getting donations of new material to sell.

Remember: Shop, Donate, Volunteer.
